100 More Alzheimer's Facilities Receive Springbok PuzzlesToRemember

Today, Springbok PuzzlesToRemember were sent out to an additional 100 Alzheimer’s facilities. The feedback continues to be very positive. Here is an email I received today:

Just to let you know the Puzzles have arrived. They arrived today which is a day P does not go to Day Care so I got him to do one straightaway. He was so pleased with himself that he could do it and when he had finished it he even asked me if I wanted a cup of tea and got up and made me one.. That is the first time he has made a cup of tea for several weeks.

Our daughter arrived just after he had finished it and he couldn't wait to tell her he had done a jigsaw by himself.

I am so grateful to you for your help.

P is still sitting there saying 'I did that puzzle'. We are going out for a drive soon so I will get him to try another one this afternoon. The one he did is the New York one.

Statewide Daughters of the American Revolution Luncheon

Today I gave a presentation at the statewide luncheon of the Massachusetts Daughters of the American Revolution. They were very appreciative of my nonprofit organization, PuzzlesToRemember. They presented me with 92 puzzles, a check for $250, and certificate as their State Community Service Winner. They told me that are submitting my name as their nominee for the Regional, 6 state, Community Service competition.

I also met someone from the Soldiers’ Home in Holyoke MA, to where I will soon be sending puzzles. Everyone enjoyed seeing the 12 and 36 piece Springbok PuzzlesToRemember.

I thank the Daughters of the American Revolution for supporting me in my efforts to make the lives of Alzheimer’s patients just a little better.

Springbok’s PuzzlesToRemember Available in 3 New Images

Springbok’s PuzzlesToRemember, jigsaw puzzles made specifically to meet the needs of Alzheimer’s patients, just became available in three new images. Each of these images is available in a 36 piece puzzle with overall size of 18” by 23.5”.

Puzzles Sent to 19 Adult Day Care Centers

Today, I packed puzzles to send to 19 Adult Day Care Centers. Each center will be receiving between 6 and 20 puzzles. I have included a variety of puzzles for each center, ranging from puzzles of 1000 pieces to the Springbok PuzzlesToRemember of only 12 pieces.

About 60% of the puzzles being shipped are new. They have been donated by manufacturers and by individuals. The remaining puzzles are used, but in great condition. Some of them are really beautiful vintage puzzles.

I hope the participants at these Adult Day Care Centers enjoy these puzzles!

Award Presented by the Daughters of the American Revolution

Today, I was asked to give a presentation about PuzzlesToRemember to the Wayside Inn chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. I think they were really interested in PuzzlesToRemember and happy to hear about the large number of veterans’ facilities for Alzheimer’s patients that have received puzzles.

They awarded me their chapter’s Community Service Award and donated 63 puzzles to my cause. They informed me that I will be receiving their state Community Service Award at a ceremony at the end of March.

I thank them for their gracious hospitality.
