Puzzles to Remember

As of Today, PuzzlesToRemember has distributed over 47,000 puzzles to over 3,070 Alzheimer's facilities around the world.

I want to thank Springbok Puzzles for supporting my efforts as we continue to produce new and interesting 36 piece puzzles which bring feelings of calm and success to many of those with dementia. This week several new puzzles have become available. I am very pleased with these puzzles because we have had many requests for puzzles that would appeal more to men with dementia.

PuzzlesToRemember has recently donated puzzles to serve as door prizes at the HOPE luncheon. HOPE stands for Health Outreach Program for the Elderly, a program sponsored by the Boston University Alzheimer's Disease Center.  A celebratory luncheon is held annually for the participants. An 8 Year Old Uses the Springbok PuzzlesToRemember to Bring Joy to Alzheimer's Patients

I wanted to share two wonderful photographs that I received today.

The first is an 8 year old visiting her grandmother in a nursing facility.  She is helping feed her grandmother.  You can just see the trust and affection between them.

Then, the girl spent time with other residents in the nursing facility.  One resident had been having a particularly bad day.  The girl offered to do puzzles with her.  Pretty soon, the day was turned around and smiles abounded.  Even the patient's physician (on the left) was obviously delighted at the result.

44,000 Puzzles Have Been Provided to Alzheimer's Patients Worldwide

As of today, over 44,000 puzzles have been provided to Alzheimer's Patients Worldwide. Many of these have been the special Springbok PuzzlesToRemember, puzzles made specifically to meet the needs of those with Alzheimer's Disease. Two new puzzles became available this month:

A Fun Family Event and Senior Citizens Benefit

In Syracuse NY, two churches got together for a fun family day of puzzles, cards, and games.

Members and their families of the May Memorial Unitarian Universalist Society and the First Unitarian Universalist Society had a fun day, and they also accomplished something meaningful for many senior citizens.

They collected over 52 jigsaw puzzles and donated them to the Rosewood Heights Health Center.

Thank you! Many senior citizens will benefit from these puzzles!
